Shine Solstice is for women who desire to live fully and wholeheartedly into their truthful selves. Danyasa is one of my absolutely favorite spaces to guide in. This will be my 3rd retreat I’ve led at Danyasa and it’s a gift to have such a potent, intentional retreat space in the jungle with the ocean steps away.
My retreats are a playground of possibilities, transformation, personal and professional development for women who are ready to expand and learn. I’m in my 21st year of entrepreneurship where I’ve led and coached over 600 women to build businesses, cultivate connections and live into their most authentic and loving selves. I have a heart for empowering you to share your gifts and connect deeper to your soul service purpose. As women we have many roles. I am a single mama to 3 adult daughters and I’ve been working to provide for my family. You may be single, partnered, working, retired, mama, pet owner, care giver, entrepreneur, the list goes on, but at the end of the day you are a woman who needs nurturing, love, care, to be seen and valued for what you offer day in and day out.
Chances are you’re a giver… The more retreats I lead, the more often I see women learning how to receive and pour into their own growth and development, so in turn they can show up more wholeheartedly for themselves, their loved ones and their responsibilities. ECO-LUXURIOUS ACCOMMODATIONS
All of our rooms at Danyasa are built from up-cycled shipping containers situated in harmony with the abundant greenery of Costa Rica. The rooms were built with comfort in mind and have wifi, AC, hot water, a private deck, and premium mattress and bedding.

FARM TO TABLE EXPERIENCE
Food sourced from local farms using organic, sustainable, biodynamic, and/or permaculture methods of agriculture.
All meals are predominantly vegan, locally sourced, with gluten-free options and a beautiful local fish add-on if you desire. -

It’s a big deal to commit to one week of focused attention time for yourself. And woman, let me tell you… you are worthy of every little ounce of your time and energy. You give endlessly to others. Danyasa Eco-Retreat Center is lodged at the base of rainforested mountains on the bank of the Baru River in Dominical Costa Rica. The space provides a sanctuary for travelers to plug in, relax, immerse in nature’s wonder, adventure, and get inspired.
Our retreat is held in a space with beautiful jungle ambiance as we experience connective and meaningful time. Our accommodations and meals are all inclusive. You are invited to enjoy our jungle yoga loft, outdoor swimming pool and cozy spaces to take time alone or with others.
Danyasa Eco Retreat space is a dream. From the yoga space to the details in each room it’s warmth and welcome feeling make you feel at home the moment you walk onto the property. I love how everything is close together so there’s an opportunity to connect with each other and with the jungle around us.
The gathering space where we eat is beautiful. There’s a long table that allows us to sit on the ground or pillows and eat meals together. (If that isn’t your thing there are benches and a table too.) There’s a pool to relax and lay out or swim. We will be a five minute walk from the ocean that is vast with trees lining the beginning of the sand. The ocean is warm and inviting! Danyasa is a short walk from the vendors who set up by the ocean.
Locals share everything from jewelry to sarongs and art. The perfect spot to support locals and bring back gifts for yourself and/or your loved ones. There’s a couple markets and shops within walking distance if you want snacks or toiletries. Everything you need is right where you are.

My intention is for friends to be in a shared room together. If you have a sister you want to room with please email me and I’ll make sure you’re together in a room. The private rooms will go fast so if you want one I highly recommend to reserve right away. I want to make sure you are taken care of and comfortable in the room you are in. Dear Woman,
It’s been twenty years of my entrepreneurship journey. I said yes to an opportunity in 2004 and was scared to try. I knew that if I didn’t want to pursue this business I didn’t have to, but I decided to try. I will be forever for my first “yes”. It changed the trajectory of my life. In my wildest dreams I couldn’t have imagined landing where I am today. For 16 years I was full time in the skin care and cosmetics industry. I trained and coached over 600 people in this time to build and grow their businesses. I had a brief stint practicing prenatal yoga in 2002 when I was pregnant with my first daughter. It wasn’t until I tore my ACL/meniscus twice on my right knee in 2009 and 2012 that I started my consistent yoga practice to heal from my surgeries.
Teaching and leading retreats was never on my radar until I took a leap and committed to my 200 hour YTT. I graduated that in February of 2017 and started teaching immediately. I was juggling two businesses and in December 2019 I decided to go full time yoga. As you can imagine it’s been a wild journey as my decision came right before my marriage came to an end in January of 2020 and the pandemic hit. My life has consistently brought me to my knees, but I get up over and over again. I will always alchemize my pain into my purpose.
In September 2021 I hosted my first international retreat with my dear friend Anna Honeybee at Danyasa Eco Retreat in Costa Rica. It was a dream and I knew I needed to go back! Almost three years later I am with more life experience and wisdom in my tool kit. Everything I’ve navigated has been more than worth it to get to this point in time where I get to this the most empowering, loving and open hearted women on Shine Solstice Women’s Retreat.
My 20 years of time, energy, break downs and break throughs have all been the reason I am here today. I will be forever grateful to every yes I’ve said to grow and transform in ways that can’t always be put into words. It’s a feeling. I could sit here and write all day about how your yes will change your life, but the only way to truly know is to say yes, full send with faith and feel what you feel when you arrive at Danyasa.
I am here to support you every step of the way. I am with you through the process leading up to the actual retreat and with you the entirety of the retreat. We offer an ecologically friendly retreat space and a sanctuary for exploration and transformation through yoga, surf, play, movement, healing arts, relaxation, adventure, community and a connection to nature. To provide top notch teacher trainings, workshops, private sessions, classes, tours, events events in Costa Rica! To explore myriad ways to better ourselves… giving us more tools to move through the world, living artfully.

Getting to Danyasa Eco-Retreat is easy. If renting a car, you can follow the directions and map below to find us. Allow 3 hours to arrive in Dominical from the airport in San Jose. We do highly recommend renting a GPS with your vehicle, as most streets in Costa Rica do not have signs or even names!
Shared-ride shuttles provide another option for getting to us. Sit back and watch the scenery and leave the driving to the pros. Shared-ride shuttles usually leave from the Juan Santamaria International Airport and generally cost around $55 each way. The shuttles take about 3-4 hours.

YES! Delicious organic breakfast is included in your reservation. In the town of Dominical there is a great health food store, numerous groceries, fruit stands and a variety of restaurants all within easy walking distance. There are also a number of other amenities in Dominical, such as banks, pharmacies and supermarkets. Most everything you need can be easily gotten in just a quick walk from Danyasa.

With beauitful bamboo floors, a state of the art sound system and world class teachers in yoga, dance and other movement modalities, we take great pride in offering a top notch experience for our guests. Costa Rica Journeys rated Bamboo Yoga Play the #2 of the top 10 places to do yoga and retreats in Costa Rica. Costa Rica Yoga Retreats ranked us #3 of the top 10 retreats and calls us “one of the best destinations” in Costa Rica. Yes, all the water on-site at Danyasa is filtered and excellent quality. The water in Dominical in general comes from the municipal water supply and is treated and good to drink.

Yes, we offer free high speed Wifi throughout our property. We are actually quite proud of internet system and we believe it to be better than just about anywhere you might stay in Costa Rica.

Yes, all our classes are tailored to meet the needs of all levels of students and practitioners. Don’t worry if you’ve never tried it before, we’ll make sure and guide you gracefully.

Costa Rica is considered one of the best and safest places for a solo traveler to visit. Although petty theft can happen and one should always be smart about leaving values unattended, violence is very rare.
And Danyasa is an extra safe-haven in an already safe country. We get many solo travelers. Rest assured you will be well cared for here and there is a good chance you will make new friends here if you want to.

By placing your deposit with KJ The Rooted Yogi you are reserving a space on our retreat and agreeing to our policies stated in our AGREEMENT. All deposits are non-refundable. Should you choose to cancel, any payments made are non-refundable. Final payments are due May 15th.
